Faux-leather manufacturer Willow Tex has earned the prestigious ISO-14001 certification, recognizing sustainable products. The firm produces IZIT Leather, a natural-looking alternative to materials requiring animal products.

Incorporating micro-porous polyurethane wet technology, eco-friendly IZIT Leather is completely recyclable and available in three styles, two grains, and 112 colors. Resembling calfskin, the durable faux-leather is breathable, stretchable, tear- and stain-resistant, and won’t “puddle” like other leather alternatives, according to the manufacturer.

The ISO 14001 certification insures the firm does not produce materials containing heavy metals, formaldehyde, nitric acid cellulose, and organic substances that continue to contaminate the environment, or any other materials that cause concern regarding potential toxicity after use.

The firm has also met its target goal of zero industrial emissions.

“Within the last few years, the number of inquiries we have had regarding our environmental policy has increased considerably,” says Kevin Puckett, director of sales and marketing. “Now, we’re able to address this issue definitively while offering a consistently better product than either vinyl or leather.”
