California Coastal Gets Temporary Favorable Ruling in Lawsuit Over Water Supply

California Coastal Communities Inc., an owner of land in California, on Monday said the Orange County Superior Court issued a tentative ruling in favor of the company regarding its water supply.

California Coastal Communities said the court issued a ruling on Jan. 19 denying Golden State Water Co.’s motion for a preliminary injunction to require California Coastal’s Brightwater residential development on the Bolsa Chica mesa to disconnect its connection to the City of Huntington Beach’s water service and use Golden State’s water.

The Court may change the temporary ruling, California Coastal said.

The preliminary injunction hearing is set for Jan. 22.

Golden State Water Co., a public utility in California owned by American States Water, could not immediately be reached.

Shares of California Coastal added 55 cents to $20.17 in morning Nasdaq trading.
