UAE: Luxe Interior to launch its first showroom in Dubai

Global design group Luxe Interior will launch their first Middle East showroom on 28th June in the presence of stars of English Premiership football giants Chelsea.

Offering original designs and luxurious interiors from some of the most in-demand designers in the world, Luxe Interior is introducing the Middle East to a new level of luxury and lifestyle in interior design at affordable prices.

The designers include Tom Dixon, the UK’s favourite textile designer Celia Birtwell, fashion designer Orla Keily among others.

Design Community Creates Can Sculptures to Combat Hunger

Audrey II was composed of 5480 cans of soup donated by Campbell’s Soup Company.

With an ingenious Audrey II plant from Little Shop of Horrors, architecture, engineering, planning, and interior design firm Nadaskay Kopelson Architects is this year’s winner of the CANstruction competition. The annual engineering contest, honoring canned food structures, was conceived by the design and construction industry to replenish food banks throughout the U.S. Entries were awarded in seven categories.

The jury praised NK Architects, based in of Morristown, New Jersey, for its “flawlessly executed structurally complex sculpture,” noting the Venus fly trap gave a “simple message [which] came through loud and clear: Feed Me!” Audrey II was composed of 5480 cans of soup donated by Campbell’s Soup Company. The team of five NK staffers built Audrey II in five hours.

Design Within Reach Teams up with Maharam

Starting in August, furnishings retailer Design Within Reach (DWR) will offer new designs and licensed classics by textile manufacturer Maharam on exclusive upholstered products.

The collaboration, in association with the Maharam Design Studio, includes a group of Maharam textiles which can be specified on a four to six week lead time.

Upholstered pieces with the option include the Bottoni collection by Dutch designer Marcel Wanders, the Theatre collection by Ted Boerner, and the Flight Recliner by Jeffrey Bernett.
