2008 Honor Award for Associated General Contractors of America
The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) is the recipient of the 2008 Honor Award from the National Building Museum. The Washington, D.C.-based museum’s annual award program is a nod to positive contributions to the construction field.
The AGC, the largest and oldest national construction trade association in the United States, is celebrated for its role in improving America’s quality of life. The association is dedicated to promoting construction excellence, including safety, through training, advocacy, and the dissemination of best practices to contractors nationwide. The museum also notes AGC’s commitment to the workforce, through career development and educational resources.
The honor award will be bestowed to AGC president Douglas E. Barnhart (CEO/Chairman, Barnhart, San Diego, California) and AGC chief executive officer Stephen E. Sandherr, on behalf of the AGC. The museum and members of the construction, development, architecture, and engineering industries, and state and federal government will toast the AGC at a black tie gala at the museum on Wednesday June 4.
The gala will begin with a VIP reception at 6 p.m. A general reception will be held at 7 p.m. and the dinner and program will commence at 7:45 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online.
