What buildings resonate to Americans? On select dates this summer, furniture manufacturer Haworth will host an exhibit of America’s favorite buildings — selected via a public poll — in its Holland, Michigan headquarters. Organized by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) in celebration of the organization’s 150th Anniversary in 2007, “America’s Favorite Architecture” will follow the theme “Celebrating the Past, Designing the Future.”

Photographs will be showcased in the firm’s three-story, 35,000-square-foot glass atrium. The top ten buildings according to public picks are:

Empire State Building

2) The White House

3) Washington National Cathedral

4) Thomas Jefferson Memorial

5) Golden Gate Bridge

6) U.S. Capitol

7) Lincoln Memorial

Biltmore Estate

9) Chrysler Building

10) Vietnam Veterans Memorial

Those looking to cast their own vote can do so at an on-site polling station or on the Exhibition’s Web site.

The exhibit will take run June 18th and 25th from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.; July 16 from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.; and July 19 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
