What buildings resonate to Americans? On select dates this summer, furniture manufacturer Haworth will host an exhibit of America’s favorite buildings — selected via a public poll — in its Holland, Michigan headquarters. Organized by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) in celebration of the organization’s 150th Anniversary in 2007, “America’s Favorite Architecture” will follow the theme “Celebrating the Past, Designing the Future.”

At a height of 525 feet, the Strata Tower will be the tallest building in Abu Dhabi’s Al Dana precinct in Al Raha Beach.

New York-based Asymptote Architecture has broken ground on a 40-story luxury residential tower in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The latest addition to the region’s desert skyline, the Strata Tower has a projected height of 525 feet and will be the tallest building in Abu Dhabi’s Al Dana precinct in the Al Raha Beach development. Annual tile and stone conference Coverings debuts a new speaker format in 2008. Instead of its standard opening day headliner during its stay at Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center, April 29-May 2, the event will feature a total of six keynote speakers.
