Tempe-based home builder T.W. Lewis is getting rid of items from model homes that have sold and has opened a showroom on the northwest corner of Arizona Avenue and Elliot Road.

“We pretty much have everything you would expect in a furniture store, from furniture to accessories to designer bedding sets,” said Tracy Lucas, the builder’s director of marketing. “We have a lot of one-of-a-kind pieces.”

During the past 46 years, Great Lakes Interiors co-owner Ken Machiela has guided his company from a small floor-covering business to a one-stop furniture and home decoration store.

Those efforts were recognized with an honor from the National Home Furnishings Association as the 2008 Retailer of the Year in the under $10 million sales category.
