California Coastal Gets Temporary Favorable Ruling in Lawsuit Over Water Supply

California Coastal Communities Inc., an owner of land in California, on Monday said the Orange County Superior Court issued a tentative ruling in favor of the company regarding its water supply.

California Coastal Communities said the court issued a ruling on Jan. 19 denying Golden State Water Co.’s motion for a preliminary injunction to require California Coastal’s Brightwater residential development on the Bolsa Chica mesa to disconnect its connection to the City of Huntington Beach’s water service and use Golden State’s water.

Across America Finances Development of FedEx Kinko’s Locations

Across America Real Estate Corp. has entered into an agreement with Situs Realty of Indianapolis, IN to become a partner in the development of two FedEx Kinko’s locations in Indiana.

Situs Realty, a preferred developer for FedEx Kinko’s broke ground on the new locations in Plainfield and Evansville, Indiana in December 2006. These two sites are scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2007 with an estimated project cost of $2.8 million.

CALC Announces Favorable Tentative Ruling in Litigation Over Water at Brightwater Project

California Coastal Communities, Inc. reported that Orange County Superior Court issued a tentative ruling on January 19, 2007 denying Golden State Water Company’s motion for a preliminary injunction to require the Company’s Brightwater residential development on the Bolsa Chica mesa to disconnect its connection to the City of Huntington Beach’s water service and use Golden State’s water in its place. However, there can be no assurances that the Court will not change its tentative ruling. If an injunction is issued following oral argument, it could cause substantial delay to the Company’s current Brightwater development schedule and result in additional development costs. Development dilemma:Residents near proposed home sites forming opposition toward project

Maps, artist renderings and computer animation were presented to more than 100 residents at a neighborhood meeting Monday, touting a proposed housing development on the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains — but few accepted the high-tech fanfare.

Instead, many neighbors remained highly suspicious and demanded answers to the 110-home project that a local congressman is behind.

Rep. Gary Miller, R-Brea, representing Miller Development, is proposing to build homes priced from $1.6 million to $4 million at the site of a former Christmas tree farm known as Carrari Ranch. The city is expected to present a draft of an environmental impact report in four weeks.
